Volunteer Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

A list of all courses and certifications, including costs and how to obtain is located at the bottom of this page.

NEW: All volunteers must complete:

1. LoginThis can be found by logging into your Spordle/Hockey Canada Registry (HCR) account by clicking HERE

2. Select 'Register for Clinics' in the upper right corner 

3. Find your clinic needed. Coaches will want to start with the HU-Online first. 

Further instructions on how to register for all clinics can be found below or contact the web administrator if you are having difficulties.

COACHES

Qualifications

1. Coaching Certification (see below to determine level needed)
   1. Coach Level 1/2 or
   2. Developmental 1 or
   3. High Performance 1
2. Respect in Sport for Leaders (every 5 years)
3. Criminal Record Check (every 3 years)
4. Concussion Awareness Tool

Coach/Assistant Coach Certification

* Coaches who were previously certified at Coach 2 level, prior to 2017, are grandfathered and not required to take Coach 1

** This includes first completing the H/U - Online Coach 1/2 then signing up for the 1 day face to face clinic

*** The course work and coaching clinics should be completed for your level of coaching by Dec. 1st of the current season, or as clinics allow.

MANAGERS

1. Must attain Respect in Sport (RIS) Certification.
2. Must submit a Criminal Record Check (CRC) form.  
3. Must complete (CATT) free online 25 minute course before going on HCR.

TEAM SAFETY

1. Must attain Hockey Canada Safety Program (HCSP) certification.
2. Must attain Respect in Sport certification.
3. Must submit a Criminal Record Check form. 
4. Must complete CATT free online 25 minute course before going on ice or HCR

EXECUTIVE

1. Must attain Respect in Sport certification.
2. Must submit a Criminal Record Check form. 
3. Must complete CATT free online 25 minute course before going on HCR.

2. Criminal Record Check

Cost: free (volunteers exempt from the otherwise $50 charge)

Recertification: 3 years
Method: On Line
Completion Time: 72-96 hours while those requiring fingerprinting can be up to 6 months

Upon completion - Clearance letters can take 2-3 weeks to be processed.  Please email office@jdfminorhockey.com a copy of your Submission number provided at completion to avoid any delays being added to your team.  

3. CATT (Concussion Awareness Training Tool)

5. Coach 2 - Coach Level + Hitting Clinic (formerly Hybrid/Stream)

Method: E Learning (4 hours) + (1) 8 hour day course

6. Development 1

7. High Performance 1 (HP1)
